The Deal Calendar: When Each Category Actually Hits Bottom

Everyone knows the marquee sale events. Fewer people know that most categories hit their yearly price floor on a schedule that has little to do with the banners on the homepage. Here is the calendar we plan our own purchases around.

The big events, honestly ranked

July's summer sale event and late November are the two genuine price valleys of the year, with the deepest first-party discounts on electronics, appliances, and Amazon's own devices. The October early-holiday event is real but shallower — think of it as a preview. Event pricing on third-party products deserves scrutiny; list-price inflation peaks exactly when shoppers are primed to expect discounts.

The one rule that beats the calendar

A price-history check beats seasonal wisdom every time. The calendar tells you when a real deal is likely; the history tells you whether this deal is real. We run that check on everything before it reaches our feed — the calendar just tells us where to point the telescope.
